Effects of Different Parenting Styles on Mental Health and Academic Outcomes for Adolescents from Different Cultural Backgrounds

This literature review aims to find the impacts of different parenting styles on mental health and academic outcomes adolescents from cultural backgrounds. The results showed that demonstrate a significant impact adolescents’ status performance. Generally speaking, authoritative style which is characterized by high level warm care, rational communication, prioritization independence achievements, moderate control, low severity was found be most effective type. However, also indicated effects are influenced backgrounds social norms. Therefore, future studies suggested take factors individual differences into account.
